2008

  • Nova participates in the Imaginarium Kids Camp in July  as a demo dog for a class of kids spending the week learning about dogs.  Nova showed off his "I had a nightmare I was a chihuahua" t-shirt, his Rally obedience and enjoyed belly rubs from approximately 15 4th through 6th graders.

    

  • July 11-13, 2008 - Mia continues her winning ways taking WB under Judge Larry Mackai for another 2 points, giving her 7 total points with one major ... all at less than 8 months of age!  Domino was Reserve Winners Bitch on Friday under Judge Terry Berrios.

  • June 28-29, 208 - Mia is on a roll taking a 5 point major, going WB/BOW/BOS under Judge Pat Hastings at the Alaska Kennel Club show! She also took Best Puppy and a Puppy Group III!  This little girl is hot! Nova takes BEST OF BREED on Sunday under Judge Charles Bett!  

  • June 20-22, 2008 - Domino earns 6 of her needed 10 points under Judges Cecilia Ringstrom, Martin Doherty and Carmen Haller going WB/BOS at three shows in Whitehorse, Canada!  Mia earns 2 points going WB/BOW/BOS and a BEST PUPPY IN SHOW under Judge Fred Gordon at the same show!

  • May 31, 2008 - Mia takes Reserve Winners Bitch and Best Puppy in Show under Breeder Judge Wanda Spediacci and Best Puppy in Sweepstakes under Deborah Shibley at the Rottweiler Club of Alaska specialty show!  Nova wins an Award of Merit under Breeder Judge Wanda Spediacci!

  • May 26, 2008 - Mia takes Reserve Winners Bitch under Judge Annella Cooper from the 6-9 month class!

  • May 25, 2008 - Nova takes BEST OF BREED (owner handled) at the Tanana Valley Kennel Club show under Judge Roger Hartinger!

  • March 23, 2008 - Domino takes Winners Bitch at the Alaska Kennel Club show from the 12-18 month class under Judge Col. Joe B. Purkhiser for 2 points bringing her to a total of 5 points ... 1/3 of the way there!  Domino was expertly handled by Laura Brodigan.

  • March 22, 2008 - Domino takes Winners Bitch with handler Laura Brodigan at the Tanana Valley Kennel Club show from the 12-18 month class under Judge Dr. Alvin W. Krause for 2 points!

  • March 1, 2008 - Nova qualifies in Novice B, taking High Scoring Rottweiler in the regular classes, and earns his C.D. title under Judge Dianne Allen!  Whoopee! 

  • January 26, 2008 - Domino takes Winners Bitch at the Kenai Kennel Club show for one point under Judge James E. Frederiksen.

  • January 20, 2008 - WindRiver Kennels is proud to have a new addition to its family.  Parisans Montrose of Ironwood came to us from Suzanne Eikanger-Stoops of Parisans Rottweilers.  Mia was co-bred with Betty & George Chamberlain of Ironwood Rottweilers.  Her sire is Best of Breed Winning, Multi V-1 Am. Ptd/ UCI-Int. Ch. Parisans Reincarnate HIC (a Ch. Ironwood Cade son) and her dam is German Import, Multi-V-1 BOSS Can/UCI-Int. Ch. Gina vom Hirschenbrunnen HIC TT CGN.

 

2007

  • November 2007 - WindRiver Kennels is proud to have the Best Puppy in Sweepstakes, Best Puppy in Show and Best Veteran in Show at the Rottweiler Club of Alaska specialty show! Domino managed to keep herself together long enough to take Best Puppy and Ripley takes Best Veteran from the 9+ years of age class.  The old girl doesn't look or act so old when back in the show ring!  My profound thanks to Liz Williams for handling Ripley to her Best Veteran win!

  • July 2007 - Domino makes her debut at the Kenai Kennel Club shows taking first place three days in a row! (Okay, so she was the only puppy in her class ... but hey, I can still brag!)

  • May 26, 2007 - WindRiver Kennels has a new champion!  Nova takes Winners Dog under Judge Charles Olvis for a 4-point major to finish his AKC Championship!  Watch for this beautiful young boy as a special in the near future!

  • April 2007 - It is with heavy heart that we say goodbye to our special girl Magic. She will live on in our hearts and memories for years to come.  Although not without issues and problems, she will always be known as "BG" - the belly-girl, as she loved nothing more than to lie at your feet and have her belly rubbed.

  • March 2007 - Nova goes Reserve Winners Dog under Judge Loraine Boutwell.

  • March 2007 - A special little girl makes her way home to Alaska!  Domino (Parisans Domino Of Ravenscrest) is our newest addition!  Thanks to breeders Suzanne Eikanger-Stoops and Pamela Boles for allowing this little girl to come to WindRiver Kennels!

  • March 2007 - Nova earns his third Rally Advanced leg and now has a new title to add to his name!  He earns his first Novice leg with a not so impressive score, but he did it!

  • February 2007 - Nova passes his CERF!

  • January 2007 - Nova takes 4th place in a competitive Open class at the Rose City Classic in Portland under Judge Donald Gill.  His brother, Soldier, takes Winner's Dog to finish his championship and his sister, Vita, takes Best Opposite Sex!

  • Well, we started off the New Year with good news and bad news ... Nova passes his OFA certification for hips with a "good" rating!  However, elbows were assigned a DJD I rating (sigh).  

 

2006

 

  • Nova takes Winner's Dog at the November 2006 Rottweiler Club of Alaska Specialty show for a 4 point major under Judge Andrea Georgi! 

  • Nova earns the Youth Sieger title at the 2006 USRC Northwest Regional Sieger Show under Judge Hans Jurgen Radtke (ADRK) and passes his Therapy Dog International and Canine Good Citizen testing requirements (September 2006).

  • Nova passes his cardiac exam on August 5, 2006.  One health clearance down ... more coming soon, we hope! 

  • Nova earns two legs towards his Rally Advanced title in July at the Kenai Kennel Club show.  He earned two third places with scores of 92 and 80!  Not bad for an 18 month old boy!  

  • In June 2006, Nova traveled to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada and earned his Canadian Championship in 4 shows with a Best of Breed and Group 1 win under Judge Honey Glendinning!  (He was also awarded RWD by Merlin VandeKinder, BOW by L.T. Haverstock, RWD by Charles Bett, BOW by Letitia Bett, and WD by Rick Glendinning.)

  • The Rottweiler Club of Alaska June specialty was held June 3-4, 2006.  Nova took Reserve Winner's Dog under Breeder Judge Grace Acosta and earned his Rally Novice title with a score of 82.  Ripley was Best Veteran in Sweepstakes under Sweeps Judge Jon Marcott!

  • Nova takes Winner's Dog on May 27, 2006 under judge Dr. Harry Smith and again on May 28 under judge Dorothy Hutchinson.  He now has a total of 9 points and will be spending the remainder of the year in search of majors and a couple of obedience titles! 

  • Nova receives two Rally Novice legs with scores of 96 and 91 under Judge Cheri Hagen on May 13-14, 2006!

  • WindRiver expands its product line to include the Alaska distributorship for the FURminator de-shedding tool and other specialized pet products!

  • See Nova's ad coming in The Rottweiler Quarterly's 2nd Quarter 2006 Brood Bitch/Promising Puppies issue!

  • WindRiver becomes the Alaska distributor for The Honest Kitchen dehydrated dog food!

 

2005

 

  • See Nova's ad in the Late Summer 2005 (Vol. 3, No. 2) of The Rottweiler Magazine's Promising Puppy Album!

  • The Rottweiler Club of Alaska Specialty & Sweepstakes show was held November 5, 2005.  Ripley takes Best Veteran in Sweepstakes and Nova takes Best Puppy in Sweepstakes under Sweeps judge Pam Boles, and Best Puppy in Specialty and Winner's Dog under Judge Lawrence Sinclair.

  • Nova travels to Pleasanton, California for the ARC Region VI Specialty, ARF Specialty and the all breed Del Valle shows in October 2005.  He came home with a 3rd and a 2nd in Sweeps and a 1st and 2nd in the specialties.  He added two more second places at the all breed shows.  Not bad for a 10 month old! 

  • Nova takes Winners Dog on August 6, 2005 under judge Steven Gladstone and Best of Winners under Judge Beth Speich on August 7, 2005 from the 6-9 month class!

  • Ripley takes Best of Opposite Sex under Judge L.T. Haverstock on August 5, 2005!

  • At the International All Breed Canine Association show in July, Nova takes 2nd in the Working Puppy Group!!  Nova's critique by Judge Donna Cole reads "Very well trained, especially for age.  Well conditioned.  Coat - good texture, correct markings. Head - planes well defined. Bite/mouth - scissors, full dentition.  Eyes - good shape/color/expression. Ears - good set and carriage. Chest - adequately let down. Front angulation - moderate layback. Rear angulation - moderate bend of stifle. Topline - firm and level. Tail - set and carriage satisfactory. Movement - covers ground with reach and drive.

  • Nova takes his first championship point at 6 months old with Best of Winners under Judge Dr. Eric Liebes at the Kenai Kennel Club show on July 9th and a Reserve Winners Dog on July 10th under Judge James Frederiksen.  Ripley took Reserve Winners Bitch on Friday, Winners Bitch on Saturday and Reserve Winners Bitch on Sunday!

  • Ripley continues her customary Reserve Winners Bitch placement at the Alaska Kennel Club shows on June 25 and 26 under Judges Michele Billings and Kathleen Steen!  

  • Nova makes his show debut in Whitehorse (Canada) for six shows ... first in his class every time (but only dog in his class, too!).  His first American shows on June 25-26 net him two red ribbons behind 8 month old Mystics Little Boy Blue (Magic's nephew!).

  • Magic took Reserve Winners Bitch at the TVKC shows in Fairbanks, Alaska on May 28 and May 30th!

  • Ripley (score of 98) and Magic (score of 94) qualified for their final Rally Novice leg on May 14th! 

  • Nova takes a Puppy Group II at the Alaska Kennel Club fun match on March 13, 2005, at just 3 months and 1 day old!

  • Ripley (scores of 84 and 96) & Magic (scores of 94 and 94) qualify for two legs each in Rally Novice on February 26-27, 2005.

  • A special little boy has joined our family . . . Nova arrived home in Alaska on February 2, 2005!  Watch for this beautiful "star" (Marlo's Casanova Vittorio) in the future.

 

  • Ripley goes Reserve Winners Bitch on January 23, 2005, under Judge Jean Fournier (always the bridesmaid!).  

2004

  • In October, Magic took 3rd place in a competitive Open class under Judge Fournier in Abbotsford, Canada.

  • Magic's preliminary x-rays  come back "good to excellent" on her hips and "normal" on her elbows from the University of Washington!

  • Ripley adds "BH" to her name with her passing of the Begleithunde (obedience and temperament tests) on August 13, 2004!

  • Ripley takes another Reserve under Judge Edgar Bajona at the Kenai Kennel Club show on July 11, 2004!  and her half-niece Magic takes First Place in the 6-9 month class on the same day!  On July 10th, Magic's sister Diva took Winner's Bitch for her first points at just 8 months of age!

  •  Ripley goes Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 3 point major at the May 29, 2004, Tanana Valley Kennel Club show under Judge George Heitzman!  On May 31st she goes Reserve Winners Bitch under Judge Robert Shreve!

 

  • Magic earns her CGC on May 2, 2004, at just 6 months of age and follows it up with her first shows on May 15 and 16 in Lynden, WA at the Mt. Baker Kennel Club all breed show.  Magic did well in her debut, taking 2nd place the first day and 1st place the 2nd day (in a class of two)!

2000 - 2003

  • Meet the newest addition (December 2003) to WindRiver Rottweilers by clicking on Magic's page on the links above.  Magic is a beautiful girl from Aspengold Rottweilers and we are blessed to have her with us - thank you Laura Tankersley for entrusting another of your wonderful dogs to us!  

 

  • On September 7, 2003, Ripley completed the Temperament Evaluation through the German Shepherd Dog Club of America with a score of 29 out of 33!  Even the umbrella didn't phase her but during the protection/threat exercise she was more interested in the surveyor tape flapping in the wind then the 'drunk guy!'

  • Ripley racked up another Reserve Winner's Bitch at the Tanana Valley Kennel Club show on May 26, 2003, under Judge Peter Machen.

  • Ripley took Reserve Winner's Bitch at the Cook Inlet Kennel Club show on August 3, 2002, under Judge Edmund Kauffman.

  • Ripley earned her International Champion title on July 22, 2001, with three V-1 ratings.  Critiques included such comments as "excellent specimen, very nice bitch, good forechest, well laid back front angulation, balanced and well-muscled back angulation, level topline" - Judge Fred Froelich; "nice specimen, good layback on front angulation, good back angulation, good topline, nice movement" - Judge Linton Moustakis; "nice outline, good breed type, nice depth of chest, good layback, nice rear angulation, balanced side gait" - J. Rowton.

  • Ripley earned her Companion Dog title on June 23, 2001, and her Canine Good Citizen on June 1, 2000.
